Tick Tock, Tick Tock! We’re hours away the clock striking 12 and the beginning of a new year. YEA!!! Glittery NYE nails are a must. I placed a call to friend and fab nail artist Karen G. to help me create Van Gogh inspired, Starry Night-like glitter ombre nails. Starry Night + Glitter + NYE… I was really feeling inspired.
Karen is a true nail art professional, working with such celebs as Selena Gomez and Gisele Bündchen, but she taught me an ombre technique that’s so simple I just had to share with you! It can easily be done at home in whatever color/ glitter combo you desire.
First apply your base color. I love, love After School Boy Blazer!! I like to wear darker colors during the Winter and although it might look black in the pic, it’s actually a gorgeous navy color and really brings the drama.
Thanks Karen G for the lesson in ombre!! Be sure to follow her Instagram (here) for more nail art inspiration.

Last week GNG reader Anne D. sent me a link to a fun DIY nail art tutorial from The Beauty Department which I reposted to the GNG Facebook page. The Beauty Department enlightened us to the idea of using a Sharpie Metallic Gold marker to create nail art design. OBSESSED! The second I saw this post I was like… “Oh well I’ve GOT to try that.” I love nails and I love Sharpie!
Thanks to The Beauty Department for the fun little tip!
